The fishtail, also referred to as the herringbone or fish bone braid, appears to be an elaborate and difficult braid, but in reality, it surprisingly easy to do. This modern twist on the classic braid can be worn many different ways and can give a hippie feel to a sophistiacted, chic look depending on it’s tightness. Here’s how to do it.
For a sharp look, use a brush to smooth out your hair and removes tangles. For a messy look with natural texture use you fingers.
Create a ponytail and secure with a clear rubber band at the back or slightly off to one side. Then split the pony in two equal sections.
Now take a small piece from the outside of the 1st section and pass it to the second section.
Then pass a small piece from the outside of the second section back to the first. Repeat the process until you reach your desired length secure the end with a rubber band.
Once finished use a pair of scissors to carefully cut the rubber band at the top. Then loosen for a softer look.
