Most ear infections clear up on their own, which is especially good news considering the over use of antibiotics is quickly becoming one of largest health crisis’s we face today.
The most effective natural remedies for ear infections include the use of heating pads, eardrops, and getting plenty of rest. If you don’t have a heating pad, you can also apply a warm washcloth to the ear. Just remember not to sleep on the heating pad all night, as you run the risk of burning the tender skin around your ear. As with any illness, sometimes the best thing you can do is rest. Sleep and/or rest, allows your body to natural heal itself.
Eardrops, such as tea tree oil, can also help relieve an ear infection. Tea tree oil should be used with caution as it may irritate the skin. You can also make a solution of rubbing alcohol and apple cider vinegar to help treat an ear infection. Mix equal parts of both liquids and then use an ear dropper to place a few drops in the ear. Let the solution sit for 15 to 20 minutes, before draining, and applying to the other ear. This solution will help clear out wax buildup, which may be causing the ear infection.
