Wearing deodorant is an essential part of our daily routine. Unfortunately, a lot of the deodorants available in stores contain parabens and aluminum that are not so good for us. To avoid these toxins, you can make your own deodorant at home using natural ingredients.

Option 1.

Cocoa & Shea Butter

One of the most effective natural deodorant recipes starts with melting 1 tbsp of cocoa butter and 2 tbsp of shea butter in a microwave safe dish. Next, add 1 tbsp of baking soda, 2 tbsp of cornstarch and tsp of Aloe Vera gel to the butters. To give your deodorant a personalized scent, you can also add about 20 drops of your favorite essential oil. Once all the ingredients are combined, pour the mixture into a stick shaped container and let it set.

Option 2.

For Sensitive Skin

If you have very sensitive skin, you can make a deodorant using arrowroot instead of cornstarch. Melt 2 tbsp of coconut oil, and then add 10 drops of tea tree oil, 2 tbsp of baking soda and 6 tbsp of arrowroot powder. You can also add a tsp of almond oil to the mixture to help soothe shaved skin. Once all of the ingredients are mixed together, pour it into a stick container. You can use an old deodorant container if you have one readily available. Allow the deodorant to set and then use as you normally would.
