It’s fun to look back in time and see what styles were “in” when we were younger; by doing this I realized that there are five styles that remain a staple in the fashion industry. These styles can all be modernized to allow you to fit in with the Victories Secret models, celebrities and fashionistas who are setting the trends today.
The key to having a great hairstyle is picking out the right style for you. Read about the five most popular styles below and determine which style fits not only your personality, but also fits into your daily routine!
The Bob Haircut
The bob is a great haircut for almost every facial shape. There are a few different versions of the Bob, such as Classic, Angled, Inverted, Long and Asymmetrical. Each bob style listed below will compliment all different types of hair, including wavy, curly, fine, normal or course hair textures.
A Classic Bob is usually cut straight around the head even around the length of your jaw.
Angled Bobs tend to be slightly longer in the front and tapered up in the back. This style is great for thick hair and is ideal for women who would like to appear stylish and youthful.
An Inverted Bob is cut more dramatically than the angled bob. This bob can be left a lot longer in the front and stacked in the back.
The Long Bob is like a Classic Bob, but longer, usually just above the shoulders. Great for those with straight or wavy hair.
An Asymmetrical Bob is cut with one side shorter than the other. It is great for those with thick hair and is fast and easy to style.
The Shag Haircut
The shag hairstyle can be worn with all three hair lengths: short, medium and long. I prefer it on shorter hair lengths because then it is a cute and extremely easy style to maintain.
The Pixie Haircut
The pixie-cut is a flirty, sexy and classic style that works best on fine and wavy hair and women who have delicate facial features. It’s fun, playful and very easy to style.
Long Hair With Bangs
Bangs are great because they require only a subtle change, but they make a BIG difference. Bangs are a great alternative for women who do not want to take off any length or add layers. Bangs will conceal a broad forehead and can also help cosmetically by covering any wrinkles or fine lines.
Long Hair With Layers
If you have long hair and are looking for a change then you will have to try this staple hair style! Layers help add movement and versatility while enhancing or minimizing your facial features.
Once you have determined which style you would like to try I recommend that you print out a picture of the style and bring it with you to your next haircut appointment. This will help the stylist to see exactly what you are looking for style-wise! Good Luck!
