For Tighter Curls

  1. Use a small barreled curling iron, 1/4″ to 3/4″.
  2. Take small sections of hair and clamp the hair from the tip and roll down to right above the scalp. If you are a little more advanced, you can clamp the curling iron in the middle of the hair strand and slowly feed the hair into the barrel as you roll the iron close to your head.
  3. Hold for approx. 5-15 seconds. Thicker, course hair requires longer exposure to the heat than thin, fine hair
  4. Release the hair from the iron and slowly pull iron away.
  5. Repeat to remaining sections.
  6. Once finished, let the hair cool for a few minutes and using your fingers or a styling hair brush, gently tousle the curls.

For Soft Bends, Waves or Large Curls

  1. Select a curling iron with a barrel size of 1″ to 1-1/2″.
