Ticks are constantly looking for a juicy host to grab onto, including yourself or your pets. In addition to keeping your yard clean and pruned, there are some natural repellents you can use to prevent ticks.
To keep yourself and your pets safe from ticks, spray your pets dry hair, and your body, hair and clothing with a mixture of 1-part water and 2-parts distilled white vinegar. You can also add some almond oil, lemon juice or peppermint oil to the mixture for an added level of repellent.
Besides spraying yourself with repellent, you should also do a tick check when you come back from being outdoors. Remove the clothing you were wearing and place it in the dryer for 10 minutes to repel any ticks. Then check your body and hair, and your pets body, for any evidence of a tick. If you do find a tick, use a tick removal spoon, instead of a tweezers to more effectively get rid of the tick.
