An apple a day keeps the doctor away, and homemade toothpaste keeps your teeth and gums healthy, your breathe extra fresh and doesn’t contain all of the questionable ingredients found in commercial toothpastes.
 
 

Simple Toothpaste

Ingredients

  • 1/2-cup baking soda
  • ¼ cup hydrogen peroxide
  • 3 teaspoons xylitol (optional sweetener)
  • 1-drop peppermint oil

Directions

  • Mix baking soda and xylitol together in a bowl.
  • Next, add the essential oil and hydrogen peroxide to the dry mix.
  • Then, combine together until a paste is formed.
  • Place the paste in an airtight container or squeeze bottle.

 

 

Sea Salt Toothpaste

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup baking soda
  • 1-teaspoon fine grain sea salt
  • 1-2 teaspoons peppermint oil (You can also use spearmint or orange)
  • Filtered water

Directions

  • Combine baking soda and sea salt together.
  • Then, add in the peppermint oil.
  • Next, add a small amount of water until you get the paste consistency you like.
  • Place the paste in an airtight container or squeeze bottle.

 

 

Coconut Oil Toothpaste

Ingredients

  • 6 teaspoons baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon hydrogen peroxide
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 10 drops of peppermint, clove, or citrus essential oil

Directions

  • Warm the coconut oil up until is has turned from solid to liquid form.
  • Add hydrogen peroxide, coconut oil, and essential oil to a bowl filled with the baking soda.
  • Mix until all the ingredients are incorporated and the mixture has turned into a paste.
  • Place the paste in an airtight container or squeeze bottle.
