Does chlorine damage your hair

Question: Does chlorine damage your hair?
Answer: Yes
Unfortunately, the chemicals in chlorine that help protect the pool from germs, can also wreak havoc on your hair. From giving your hair color a greenish hue to causing it to become dry and brittle, chlorine is definitely not your hair’s best friend. The best way to lessen the effects is to condition your hair with a silicone-based product before you go swimming. Using non-chlorine based water, along with the conditioner will also help protect hair.

And, as always, be sure to wash and condition your hair as soon as you are done swimming. You can use products you have around the house, such as lemon or tomato juice, club soda or baking soda to help remove the chlorine and prevent damage.
