Your mouth is full of a natural protector and strengthener…your saliva. It is designed to strengthen your teeth no matter what you eat or drink. This doesn’t mean you should go overboard with highly acidic or sugar-filled foods, as they will weaken your enamel. Once that occurs, your saliva will no longer be able to strengthen your teeth. If you do consume these foods, be sure to rinse your mouth out with water until you can brush and floss them. You can also chew some sugar-free gum, which stimulates saliva production.
The best way you can help strengthen your teeth is by properly brushing and flossing your teeth daily. By letting food and plaque sit on your teeth and gums, you run the risk of weakening your teeth and gums, and developing serious dental problems.
