How To Create Volume With Hot Rollers

Hot rollers are a great way to create natural looking fullness, body and volume. Make sure to use a high quality set of rollers with multiple sizes.

Directions

Step 1.Clean Your Hair

Shampoo, condition and towel dry. If you prefer to wash your hair the night, do steps 1 and 2 the night before and resume steps 3 -5 in the morning.

Step 2.Apply Product

Evenly apply a volumizing styling mousse to your hair, I use Rusk Maximum Volume & Control Mousse. Make sure not to use too much product because this with weight your hair down.

Step 3.Blow Dry

Now, dry your hair using a round brush and a blow dryer with a concentrator attachment. I recommend sectioning the top layer of your hair (the crown & bangs) leaving the lower half down, this is where we will start. Take your round brush and place it beneath the hair and blow dry from the top concentrating the air flow downward on the brush. Thoroughly dry the bottom sections then let the top half down and repeat until hair is completely dry.

Step 4.Apply Curlers

Began wrapping your hair in hot rollers starting very front of your crown and work your way from front to back. Then roll the sides from top to bottom. Pull a section straight up, place a hot roller at the end, and then roll it down toward your scalp and secure it with a roller pin. I recommend using multiple sized rollers for the most natural results. For longer hair use 1 ½” and 1 ¼” rollers.  For shorter hair use 1 ¼” and 1”. Evenly layer the rollers throughout your hair (approx. 10 to 16) alternating sizes and placing some vertical and horizontal.
